Basant — Kite Festival
The world's largest kite-flying gathering, rooftop to rooftop across Lahore.
Basant is a spring kite-flying festival centered on Lahore, Pakistan's cultural capital, where rooftops across the old city fill with families, music, and thousands of kites at once.
Because Basant plays out across the whole city rather than one fixed site, this trip is built around a small number of private rooftop locations arranged in advance, with a local host at each — not a crowded public ground.
Lahore itself is the other half of this trip: the festival days are paired with time in the Walled City, food streets, and Mughal-era architecture, since most travelers are already making the trip to Pakistan and want more than a single afternoon here.
What to expect
- ✦2 private rooftop sessions with local host families
- ✦A guided walk through Lahore's Walled City and food street
- ✦Visits to the Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque built around the festival days

Safety, specifically for this trip
- Kite-flying line safety is taken seriously — hosts we work with use standard cotton line, not metal-coated or glass-coated line, and travelers are briefed on rooftop safety before the festival day.
- Lahore is a major city with standard urban travel considerations; your guide handles all local transport.
